6/18/14

On Thursday we began our trip up north to our eventual destination Hare Bay. Along our route we would have certain stops in a few cities and towns. The first stop was the city of Corner Brook (the second largest city in Newfoundland), with a  heavy lumber industry presence as well as ties to paper production for the New York Times and other major U.S. newspapers. The afternoon was spent in a conference room discussing the agenda for the next three weeks including the planning of a coastal clean up, an event with the Canadian Junior Rangers, and a youth birdathon. The evening gave us a chance for some recreation and exploring the city of Corner Brook.
